Why was my Credit/Debit Card payment declined?

Payments made using a Credit/Debit Card may be declined for several reasons.

 

Below are the possible reasons why a Credit/Debit Card payment is declined:

1. INSUFFICIENT BALANCE
If your payment fails due to INSUFFICIENT BALANCE, the transaction is declined because the balance on your Credit/Debit Card is not sufficient to complete the transaction. We recommend checking your balance before making a payment or using another Credit/Debit Card.

 

2. INCORRECT CVN/CVV OR EXPIRATION DATE
If your payment fails due to INCORRECT CVN/CVV OR EXPIRATION DATE, the transaction is declined because the card information you entered is incorrect. We recommend trying again and ensuring that all entered information is correct.

 

3. INCORRECT CVN/CVV ENTERED
If your payment fails due to INCORRECT CVN/CVV ENTERED, the transaction is declined because the CVN/CVV information entered is incorrect. The CVN/CVV is a 3-digit number located on the back of your card. We recommend trying again and ensuring the information is entered correctly.

 

4. AUTHENTICATION (3DS) NEEDED
If your payment fails due to AUTHENTICATION (3DS) NEEDED, the transaction is declined because 3D Secure authentication is required. We recommend trying again and completing the 3DS authentication process correctly.

 

5. INACTIVE CARD
If your payment fails due to INACTIVE CARD, the transaction is declined because your card is inactive. We recommend using another card or contacting your card-issuing bank.

 

6. REQUIRES CVN/CVV
If your payment fails due to REQUIRES CVN/CVV, the transaction is declined because you are required to enter the CVN/CVV. We recommend trying again and ensuring the CVN/CVV information is entered correctly.

 

7. EXPIRED CARD
If your payment fails due to EXPIRED CARD, the transaction is declined because your Credit/Debit Card has expired. We recommend using an active Credit/Debit Card or contacting your card-issuing bank.

 

8. CARD REPORTED STOLEN
If your payment fails due to CARD REPORTED STOLEN, the transaction is declined because your Credit/Debit Card has been reported as stolen. If you encounter this issue, please contact your card-issuing bank immediately.

 

9. GENERIC DECLINE
If your payment fails due to GENERIC DECLINE, the transaction is declined due to an issue with your Credit/Debit Card. If the issue persists, we recommend contacting your card-issuing bank for further assistance.
